Santorini is a unique and magical island, having been formed from a series of volcanic explosions that took place thousands of years ago. The result of this is a wonderland of ebony volcanic rocks, steep cliffs and breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea.
In order to thank their closest friends and family who travelled all the way from the U.S., the couple planned a series of celebrations spanning four days. They greeted their guests with a caldera sailing trip to enjoy Santorini’s mesmerizing sunset, followed by the rehearsal dinner, which took place at a beach restaurant on the sand.
On the day of the wedding the bride, escorted by her parents, walked through the narrow alleyways of Imerovigli village to arrive at the blue domed chapel where her groom and guests were waiting for her. At the end of the ceremony the couple followed by all their guests returned to the wedding reception riding a donkey and accompanied by traditional musicians.
The reception took place at the terrace of a boutique hotel, perched high above the world famous caldera with breathtaking views of the volcano and the sublime sunset. The décor was inspired by Santorini itself, combining pale blue tones to match the blue of the Aegean sea and gold accents to represent the golden sunsets of the island.
The wedding celebrations were concluded with wine tasting experience in one of Santorini’s iconic vineyards. It was an unforgettable celebration for everyone involved which will stay with them for many years to come.
