Kalli, the Greek American bride met Scott, the Australian groom at a running race in New York. After several run dates they fell in love and despite the challenges of the pandemic decided to make their relationship official.
Since the bride’s family comes from Greece the couple decided to have a destination wedding away from their hometowns in the U.S. and Australia at a location that both them and their guests could enjoy and spend their holidays in.
From the first stages of planning, the couple wanted a truly authentic Greek wedding and therefore chose the beautiful Agreco Farm for their ceremony and reception. The farm is located in the outskirts of Rethymno town and is surrounded by a breathtaking vineyard and olive grove overlooking the majestic Aegean sea.
They chose long wooden tables for their family style dinner in true Cretan feast style with lots of different delicacies all sourced from the organic farm. Their color palette was based on the use of softer pastel tones with lots of spring flowers as they wanted a more romantic aesthetic overall.
They incorporated twinkling fairy and bistro lights above the reception area which was located in the main village square adjacent to the farm, to create a magical summer night ambience. The celebrations concluded with some magnificent traditional Cretan dancing set against the wonderful backdrop of the picturesque Greek chapel straight out of a Greek postcard.
